I've come upon a topic through a forum search of which I would like to discuss with one of the persons involved of whom was Ed MacLaren.
I'd sent a PM to him and than later checked out his profile noticing that his last activity was supposedly 01-01-1970, 12:00 am .
I since than have also noticed that there are posts by this person dated up to 07-10-2005, 08:00 PM. Does anyone know if he is still around to ask relative questions ?

Thanks,
Carl

Carl, unfortunately I do not think Ed checks in anymore. It would be great if he did. He was a nice guy, very knowledgeable and helpful.

Thanks, I wish he were here too. From what I've read through his postings, he is a very knowledgible person of whom has a great way of expressing complex answers in layman's terminology. I have a question in regards to his reply in the post "Heater Calculations" originally posted by jhabby. Are you familiar with that post ?

Ed was a very respected member, he was a retired Instructor that shared his excellent training material with us.

He ran a Canadian electrical website maybe 6 or 8 years ago that doesn't appear to be in operation anymore. It was www.electric-ed.com

I have his email address as edmac@attcanada.com I have no idea if it still works. I have another more recent one as edmac@allstream.net

I have his home address as Box 378, Cornwall, PE, Canada, C0A 1H0.

Moderators... all of this information was quite public at one point. It was not information given to me privately. Ed seems to have fallen out of touch at the end of 2005.

Maybe he has decided to completely retire.
Man, I don't know. He had zillions of downloadable educational text files and graphics on his old site. It would be an aweful shame if they were just gathering dust on a hard drive somewhere on Price Edward's Island. They should be preserved someplace.

It is also possible that the unthinkable has happened and he has gone to a better place.
I hate to admit that I was thinking the same thing. Somebody should try to find out.

Roger and I have a number of his graphics on our PCs. I found them to be clear and uncluttered.

I use his illustrations from time to time with a note giving Ed the credit.
