Hi,
I am not an electrical engineer and have little and basic knowledge about electrical engineering and electronics. The question I am about to ask you guys may feel dumb to some of you but please bear me.
Where I live, there is a lot of electricity crisis and the place is super hot so we need air conditioners to cool the rooms. but electricity is also very expensive over here.
My room is small so I was thinking to buy AC of old ships. They are usually small and cheaper and runs at 110v. So my question is, which would consume less power? 220V AC stepped down using transformer to 110V AC or 12V DC battery using step up inverter to 110V AC. From power consumption and billing point of view which would take less power? keeping in mind I have to charge the battery.
I am not sure what other technical information you might need so please ask.
Apologies if I sound super dumb.

Thankyou.

Power consumed is basically the same.

Watts = Watts no matter the voltage.

Watts(Power) = voltage x amperage x PF.

If voltage goes down, amperage goes up, and the reverse holds true.

The watts consumed stays the same. You need the same amount of power to run your AC unit.

On that note:
