Which type of wire for SEC?

I'm installing a 200A new meter base/main service panel. The service entrance conductor will enter via IMC conduit from an aerial connection, so the only part of the conductors exposed to the elements will be the drip loop below the weather head.

I just purchased some THHN/THWN-2 in size 3/0. It's sunlight resistant and suitable for wet locations, so I thought it would be appropriate. But now that I'm looking at the service panel, that is factory wired inside (from the meter base side to the main breaker) using XHHW-2.

Did I buy the wrong wire?

Is this Cu or Al? If it is Cu, your in good shape

That and the fact that it's listed as sunlight resistant. I guess what's confusing me is what is the application difference between THWN-2 and XHHW-2?
