White wire reidentified

2005NEC 200.7 (C) allows the use of a conductor with a white or gray color insulation to be permanently reidentified to indicate its use as an ungrounded conductor. This permission is allowed only for the use of cable assemblies and flexible cord as described in (C) (1),(2) and (3).

Where in the code is this reidentification allowed for conductors that are not part of cable assemblies nor flexible cord, but are those individual conductors pulled from a spool into raceways?

There is no exception for reidentifing white wires that are not part of a cable assembly. An individual white conductor can only be used for a grounded conductor.

There is not one, you must abandon the white and pull the right color into the raceway.

Mr. Fish, you have to understand that the exception for re-IDing a white wire is made because that's how cables are made.

When pulling your own conductors, there's no excuse for not pulling the right colors to begin with.

You could strip the insulation off and make it an EGC. Otherwise its a neutral or in the scrap bin.
