Who runs the wires to weatherhead

Some stealing was going on around here, but now that copper is 90 cents a pound again, I think the problem has solved itself. They were going so far as to steal grounding electrode conductors. But taking a service down seems like a lot of work and mostly out in the open, it seems like it would be a rare occasion. But I agree the homeowner is the victim.

That depends on your contract. Around here that I own it until it is billed, which can only happen once a month.

That is a VERY poor contract.

Think about it

Do you think the carpenters would pay for all new windows if after they were installed vandals broke them all?

Or if someone sprayed graffiti all over the finished paint job the painters would repaint for free.

I'm not saying it's a great contract. I'm GUESSING that maybe the building risk only covers material that has been billed? I know I have to file claims because of this arangement before.

In Greenville, SC, Duke Power will install the wiring in residential (actually 9 out of 10 times it is Pike) I normally install mine so I have control on the situation and I am still obligated to place an attachment point (they are afraid of a lawsuit). With commercial it is my baby until out of the weatherhead.
