Has anyone ever had a panel installed 2 pole surge suppressor cause erratic voltage? Lights flickering?

Is there any way to test one of these devices?

Thanks

I had one installed in my last home and never experienced the issues you describe.

There is no way to test them that I know of. Non-destructively, that is.

The suppressor we used to offer was installed between the meter and the socket. It was plugged into the meter socket and then the meter plugged into the suppressor. Problem with 'em is that you never really know if they are working until they don't. We finally quit selling 'em. Plus, if the customer did "fry something", they tried to hold us responsible because we installed the device. Even if that's not what you've got, have the POCO pull the meter and take a look (maybe test with a "Beast of Burden")...could be their problem. Don't wait....a neutral problem could cause damage to your electronics and the suppressor may not help.

I've installed about 6 of them in the last 6 months. Siemens, Cutler-Hammer, an Homeline. Haven't had any complaints at this time.
