There must be money to be made out there. I just saw the home that one of our local concrete contractors owns and is selling, for $950,000.

$950,000 doesn't get you much more than a mid-sized tract home in so Cal, so just how big of a home are we talking about here? ?

how old is the house? when did he buy it? for how much? is he selling because he can't afford to keep it? how mortgaged is it? will he actually make money off the sale?

these are all questions that come into play...don't assume he can afford a million $ home...

I started my third large remodeling job today. I'm swamped/slammed and juggling. It was a slow winter. Spring is here!

Dave

Since the housing market went bust in the mortgage quagmire, more than enough work can be found in remodels & basement finishes. I'm up to my gills in them myself.

Sorry about that Brant, I was looking in the wrong county.

You may have been looking at the county i live in, which is brooks (16-17k). because its in the valdosta msa, all the contractors from the 4 county msa are going to be in the local yellow pages.

I know how things work and I've seen his new house and yes he can afford it.

You would have to see it to appriciate it. I think it was only 2700sqft or so. Has a custom rock salt water pool, four car garage. It was a vacation home at one time that kept getting added on to and is very rustic looking on the outside.

But what's his reason for selling it?

He built himself another brand new custom home.
