Apparently the folks who teach the world's future... Earth/ground wire could be considered correct as that it what its typically called- the rest not so much.

IMO since the NEC uses the term equipment grounding conductor that's what should be used.

It makes it sound like the EGC is to merely bypass a person, while we know it's to trip a breaker or fuse.

Ever hear of the UK? That's what they call it on the other side of the pond. Kinda like bonnets on your car, riding in a lift....

That's my point if you call it an earth wire it sounds like if you connect the wire to the earth everything will be fine because the fault will travel safely into the earth which is untrue.

I skimmed through it, and its written with terms that are clearly from GB/UK.

Except the way its written goes against even their own rules. A TT supply would have an RCD or in the old day a VOELCB.
I don't know what that is.

Types of Earthing Systems, TNC, TNS, TNCS, TT, IT
TT does use the earth, but typically not enough to operate a standard fuse or MCB.

They (and EU) have their own version of the problem, in that they call it "Protective Earth"
