If eveyone in the world knows that there is a stop sign at Fourth and Elm. Does the cop have to prove to the jury, there is a stop sign there, or just the issue of fact, that you ran it?

EDIT: Sorry I might be beating a dead horse.

A law enforcement officer must, at least, provide the accused with the section of law they have alledgedly violated. So far, Officer DW, you've provided nothing.

Oh, and I forgot about NEMA. I'm sure they're going to want to hear about this new thing called a two-way.

why is a 3way switch called a 3way not a 2 way like untrained people call it,? I use them all the time but can't answer my helpers question. Rick

Holy smokes,

17 pages of responses to your question?

Did not read all of those previous pages, I always called 'em 3-ways because that is what it said on the box. Just tell your man to get that identified terminal connected correctly, the rest of the terminals should take care of themselves.

Now bring on those 4-ways . . .

Best Wishes Everyone

It'ss been fun, but got to set a toilet now.

It takes 2 SPDT switches to make one "Three Way Switch"
And by the way a single pole double throw switch is not a three way switch

Interesting. Your document says that a SPDT IS a 3-way, and ONE SPDT is ONE 3-way.

We can't agree so, I will visit this thread next decade.

If only. I bet he's back in 4 posts. I can't believe I'm wasting my lunch hour on this thread! We need a carpenter ban.

Thanks Sparky,
I don't know how to put the spread sheet up.
Now lets see: 3-way, three-way, three way. Which one is a switch? Which one is a system? And which one is a connection, IYO?
Did you get burned real bad by 480 volts?

Everything listed there is a component of a system.

3-way, three-way, three way are all switches. There are no systems on that sheet.

It is really sad when someone can not understand the documents they posted.

Oh well it's at least been mildly entertaining.
