Why no PDF?

Huh? I think what you are saying is that once a state codifies a version of the NEC into law, it no longer is protected by copyright and can be freely obtained and copied. Maybe that's why the NEC isn't making it easy to copy their products.

I think the 2020 has been adopted by MA.

Yes. That’s what I’m saying. I didn’t realize MA had adopted it
And I’ll be corrected on this if I’m wrong, but I believe it is just that state only. Any other states they have not adopted it still allow it copyright protection

In the United States, statutory law cannot be copyrighted and is freely accessible and copyable by anyone.

Once the coding model has been accepted as law, it loses copyright protection and may be freely obtained at no cost.

so the 2020 is protected by copyright laws
i agree

I responded to the 'Not a copy right violation to make a PDF of a book or other document that you have purchased. ' comment. Blanket statements like this are very misleading. Try selling copies of any book you buy.

I ordered the loose leaf for scanning to PDF.
I am worried about bleed through from the other side of the page with the thin paper.

Like I said in the other thread, This will be the most pirated version of the NEC, since there is no PDF offered this cycle.

I wish there was a loose leaf handbook.
You may get less bleed through if you use a grey or black background sheet in the copier instead of letting the standard white backing on the cover reflect light back through the thin paper. You may have to adjust the overall exposure if the copier/scanner allows that.
If you are using an automatic sheet feeder modifying the background may be difficult though.

Wait... I was agreeing with you.

My book should be coming in this week. If you get started before me, let us know how it works out.

I thought about using the adobe scan app for the bleed through, as I use my black desk pad as a background when I use it for scanning, and it does a much better job than the HP scanners we have at the office. But it won’t be nearly as fast as the auto feed scanner.
