Why would someone sell an arsenal of tools? I was just looking at Craigslist, and saw this...

You think somebody stole somebody else's tools and is hawking them? :-?

If the sellers name isn't Rob I think they are stolen.

Two quotes from that ad...

tool belt thats fitted for a little guy haha
Obviously not him????
Then following sob/cover story.
I just recently got laid off and needing to get rid on my gear for some money, all this stuff im about to list isnt even a year old, i spent about 900 on all my tools, I would like to get rid of all of it
And yeah - when I need money - I work - not sell the tools I make money with.... I don't even throw tools away that I've completely worn out.

Back in the 70's and 80's about once a week pickup trucks full of tools of all kinds would show up on job sites with out of state plates with surplus tools for sale. Soon after police cars would roll by.

Personally, I've always wondered why a person is listed in the local paper as "John Doe, 1234 Main St., Debts $65,000, Assets $325,000." is filing bankrupcy.

There's two sides to every story, and in this case it's his side and our side. I think he's told us all he's going to about his side.

OK, so he states he got laid off. Maybe he's facing bankrupcy, forclosure or eviction. Funny things people will do to keep a roof over their head and food on their kids' plates. I'd say that unless you know the full story, anything we discuss here on the matter is pure conjecture..

1. Hot tools.
2. Young man that decided to go to college.
3. Illegally obtained tools
4. Young man that after a year still has not master turning a screwdriver.
5. Stolen tools.
6. Retiring electrician.
7. Borrowed and never returned tools.

As mentioned I would never sell tools of any kind.

You forgot, angry ex-girl friend.

For a second there that list looked like the list of tools that were stolen out of my van in Colorado Springs, but I know their not. How could I when we all use the same tools. Not to change the subject, but... to steal a T.V. or a stereo is one thing but to steal the tools a person needs to put food on his family's table is pretty low.

That happened to a guy I worked with a few years ago. Went to lunch at an apartment complex, I think, and came back from lunch to find his tools missing.
