Yup, we can wire-up the campsite - no problem!

Re: Why pay for an electrician....

Hey - It's got cable connectors, and some type of cable and boxes and GFCI's and cover plates. What more could you ask for? It could be soooo much worse.

Believe it or not I recently inspected a temporary service that was almost that bad. Yes there was a permit pulled by a licensed electrician.

Are we to surmise that the black one is a 240 volt outlet? Why else is it different from the others? :D

It appears to be a 20amp, like the second from the right. HD probably ran out of 15a ones.

Websparky: Any speculation on the breakers? 15a, 20a, mixture? Did you see inside?

Re: Why pay for an electrician....

I see a couple of things wrong, SE cable not secured, Panel not weather proof, Romex connectors, NM exposed too sun light, panel not grounded, 20 AMP. Recpt. on 14 NM, no in use covers, NM not secured but worst of all there was no bribe left for the inspector.

I have always said that there must be a better way to make a living. Did I miss out on a great career opportunity here? :D :D

If you look just to the right of the box, beyond the pond, just at the tree line you can see Bigfoot eating a hot dog and drinking a Dr. Pepper, and if I'm not mistaken he is wearing a tool pouch, maybe, just maybe, Bigfoot is moonlighting as an electrician  .

Re: Why pay for an electrician....

Worked for a contractor once who had to "remind" the personnel that we ONLY install "plain brown devices with WHITE coverplates" as standard. Anything other than that was an extra.

He felt some people were selling the new, fancy decora devices off his trucks for cash as side-job extras. (Despite implementing the most anal retentive, failsafe daily inventory system ever conceived.)

Went to a service callback one day - and one of the ex-employees installed brown decora receptacles with white decora receptacle coverplates in the kitchen!

Re: Why pay for an electrician....

If someone did that in my house I would laugh and tell them to get lost. Charge extra so it matches? Good thing he didnt sell tires or he would charge extra if they all had the same tread.
