Why use GFCI's ?

It is a shame that this is in the news again. A child killed by someone Else's ignorance. The one thing the father said that holds true for most people " I didn't think you could be electrocuted by 110". Hopefully his campaign will help save others
 
I remember reading this in the news when it happened. I was so angry at her father for praising the man of the house for performing CPR when all I was thinking was "If that were my daughter I would be opening a can of whoop ass on him for not putting a GFCI by the pool"

Such a shame, that girl died over $6.95.

I am sure that this girls family would have paid any price if this tragedy could have been prevented.
