I have a large chandelier ~ 150lbs that is connected to a Wilshire Light Lift - L300. I'm actually bringing down the chandelier as I am moving and so I brought it down to remove the drops, etc. The fixture was down for 3-4 hours which my wife and I took turns to remove and pack the drops/crystals. Suddenly the chandelier was on it's way up and then the motor won't stop as it reached the top.
So now we are halfway through the process of taking the fixture down. I called my local services company and the fine electricians who had helped install the lift and chandelier several years ago found out that the belt is not moving - it slips and so the chandelier does not move down.
As the company Wilshire is out of business and the manual does not specify this particular scenario, we are not sure how to proceed. Any help is much appreciated. My goal is simply take the fixture down at this point. I don't care if the lift is fixed or not.
Thanks,
AJ
