Yes, the guy at sill lite told me they have been used in islands. Opens up some interesting possibilities.

I just installed my first sill receptacle in an island. It was a breeze and looks great. I already sold 12 of them and have more people interested. I don't think 2- 12/2 cables would be a problem at all.

One thing is you need a 1 3/4" hole and you better get it right as there is little (and I mean little) room for error. The screws that mount the receptacle go thru the top at a 45 degree angle so there is no issue with support.

I bought a 1 3/4" self feeder bit and it worked like a charm
