There are lots of online steps that can be taken to minimize the watching. The location that shows up for my online tracking is over 60 miles from where I am actually at.
No matter what the reason, the tracking of keystrokes is way beyond any definition of reasonable.
I never said I was upset, I just said I don't have that kind of trust in any company.
well, the creeping feature syndrome is a bit of a concern with regards to privacy.
however, many people are willing to trade privacy for convenience.
i've discovered an interesting thing with another system.... OnStar.
first off, it has the capability to listen in to the sounds in the car.
you have a microphone. it's connected to the 'net. do they listen?
who knows. can they listen? yes. why would they want to listen?
they wouldn't.
since i've been driving this car, i've been in close proximity to three significant accidents.
all three times, the cruise control gets switched off, and can't be turned on for a mile or so.
at first, i thought it was a fluke. it's not. it's happened three times, and each time was right
next to a major accident. no mention of this is made anywhere in onstar info, that i can find.
first time was 405 freeway near lax. one car rear ended another about 50' in front of me...
cruise control turned off for a mile. wouldn't re start.
second time was on 110 near downtown. similar accident, same story.
third time was top of grapevine going to bay area. fedex double semi was sideways across
the southbound lanes, blocking 4 of them. i was northbound, it happened about a minute or
two before i got there... as i approached, the cruise control turned off for a mile.....
it's never happened any other time.
