Wire ampacity?

What is the ampere rating of: 1.5mm2, 2.5mm2, and 4mm2 pvc insulated copper conductor? Please forgive the elementary question, but the machine in question is a German import with these wire sizes.

It looks to me like 16, 14 and 12 AWG comparisons. However, beyond that you would need to know the insulation type for each of these conductors in order to use 310.15(B)(16) properly.

The dimensions are close but off. So far Im thinking 16amps, 20, 32 amps respectively but I could be very wrong.

I am pretty sure that 16A and 32A are common sizes for British circuits, so your numbers are reasonable since their wires are sized using metric dimensions.

Why Yes....As long as they use the values in the NEC I'm good.

I am going to say that without providing the temperature you are willing to run the conductor at you can not determine the ampacity of a conductor.

A 14 AWG might carry 150 amps if you are willing to run it that hot.

Comparing relative sizes from the NEC might get you in the same ball park but is still just a guess.
