Recently I was told that the NEC now requires that the insulation on wires placed in conduits in wet locations (e.g. from the outside disconnect to the A/C compressor) must be rated for use in a "wet" environment because the conduit is located in a wet location. It was also stated that since the A/C outside disconnect is located in a "wet" location, the insulation of the wires or cable supplying power from inside the structure to the disconnect also must be rated for use in a wet environment.
Is this really a requirement? If so, please identify the code paragraph so I can get myself up-to-date!
