What size wire do I need to supply a 50 amp receptacle?(the run is approximately 50')
how about you hire an electrician to the work and you take care of changing the air filter. you seem to be a maintance person trying to do electrical work.
The distance of 50 feet is generally not a problem but I bet if you use #6 copper you would be covered in all cases. What size wire do I need to supply a 50 amp receptacle?(the run is approximately 50')
In that case, it looks like #6 in an SE or NM, or #8 in MC (or conduit.)I believe it is for a plasma cutter; it requires a 45 amp maximum circuit.
verify the hours of operation to determine continuous load or not. You may have to size OCPD and conductor at 125% if this is in a manufacturing facility that runs constant.
Me, too! :grin:That looks like me when I was a kid in the 50's.
