Wire Tap Ques.

I'm Bringing 3/0 wire at 3 phase from a 200a disconnect in main elect room going about 100' to a pull box and tapping smaller wires off the 3/0 to feed equipment that has fused disconnects on them not exceeding the 200 amps. Tryn to find in the code where it says this is ok. I thought wire taps are for service entrance wire only. does this sound right?
 
Are you talking about a polaris tap or something like that? If so, yes you can do that. Not sure what code art. but I remember seeing that.
 
Ok...polaris may just be one of the brand names. I always heard it as a generic term for them. I know what you're talking about though.:cool:

******Thanx for the answers. It says in 240 that u can tap like that. I'm just not used to doing this. I would put a panel box in on the wall, but if yr tight for room u can do taps.******:D
