Where is plugmold or wiremold covered in the NEC? I thought it would be covered in artilce 376. I am trying to decide on which size to order. I need 3 #10's (2 hots and a ground) on a 230volt, 30 amp circuit and think that 1/2" or 3/4" would be fine.
 
Not 376, you need to go to 386.

Specifically wire fill in 386.22.

I am not sure what you mean by "1/2" or 3/4" wiremold is not sized that way.

I would not use less then 700 series for a few number 10s.
 
According to the Wiremold website the 500 series raceway can handle 3-#10 conductors the 700 series 4-#10 conductors.
 
Look at table C-1 in Annex C and triple that number :smile:

(I know they actually have a % fill and charts, but everytime I ever worked with Wiremold (plugmold), I wondered how they could legally cram
all that in place.)

I believe 500 series is supposed to be equivalent TO 1/2" (as in .5") and 700 series is supposed to be equivalent to 3/4" (as in .75").

Of course, I could be wrong. :rolleyes:

Maybe true, just don't try to order it that way in my area. :)

Why would I use that table for Wiremold when the manufacturer has already done the calculation? (386.22) And that table is for EMT.
 
A gripe, while we're on the topic... Hubbell has a product compatible with 500 and 700 Wiremold, and it's a bit cheaper. The only bad thing is that their 700 is different. You can mix and match Hubbell and Wiremold's 500, but the 700 stuff you can't mix and match. Hubbell's 700 is a bit larger, which can help sometimes.
