I was asked the question whether a polaris type of connector can be installed in the above enclosures.. An inspector thought he remembered reading that the terminations had to be mounted to the enclosures.

I cannot find anything in those sections that would disallow a polaris type splice. Anyone know something different. I seem to remember this coming up before but I am so forgetful who knows what I am remembering.

I'll have to look but I thought that the fastened in place part was for bus.

the fastened in place is for terminal blocks. A polaris is just a big wirenut.

That is what I thought also but even that isn't in there

My guess it is part of the listing for the block

See section 376.56(B) on power distribution blocks. And you are right it does not say it has to fastened, interesting.
