New to the forum, so thanks in advance for the responses.
I have a 90amp circuit breaker in the Main panel for the heat pump. In the attic where the heat pump is located i have a subpanel that splits this circuit into 30 and 60 for heat pump and emergency strips for heat pump.
Wire from main panel is aluminum 2-2-4 (2 hot + ground). I need to convert subanel to 120/240.
Can I install a neutral bar in the subpanel and run a single #4AWG insulated copper wire from main panel neutral bar to a subpanel neutral bar to get my 120v?
So final wiring will be aluminum 2-2-4 and copper 4 neutral.
I will be removing emergency heat strips so 60amps will be available for 120v service.
