I will be running 6 AWG THHN/THWN-2 wire through conduit from my main breaker panel to a hot tub disconnect. The hot tub requires 50 amps, and I will be using a Square D 50 AMP QO breaker at the panel and a Homeline 50 Amp GFCI at the disconnect. At all times, the wire will be enclosed in conduit. I plan to connect the PVC to the main panel, run it outside the house through a brick wall, and then up into the attic through the soffit. Just inside (or outside), I plan to transition to EMT for the attic run. I will then traverse the attic and exit 35 feet away through another soffit. Again at the soffit, I will transition to PVC, running down the wall to the disconnect box. I would like to use PVC on the outside of the house for appearance and to avoid any corrosion issues. What is the proper way to make the transitions, and are there any concerns with grounding the conduit sections? The main panel and the disconnect will be metal and will be grounded.
