Just finished inspecting a straw-walled structure where they are using NM cable for the majority of branch circuits. In some places they are covering or are in contact with the adobe material used to provide a finished surface for the straw. I'm not very comfortable with the entire installation, but all I have ever done with straw is put it on a trailer and stack it in the barn. 334.12(A)(10) takes some of the guess work out, but I would appreciate someone's view that has seen this type of construction before. Thanks.

Re: Wiring in adobe

Still would have tp comply with 300.4 d 1 1/4 clearance.as long as the surrounding finish isn`t corrosive(is adobe corrosive) Then 300.4 d takes control
