Have a Green House to wire (30'x52') I was considering using PVC or EMT with compression. I fiquire it to be damp location it has automatic sprayers. Has anybody wired one of these? and what method did you use? Not really sure how damp it will get.

If there is any chance that the wiring system will be exposed to moisture,I would use pvc,as emt will rust over a long period of time.

I did a smaller one YEARS ago and used sealtite.

Hmmmm.... Are you installing metal halide lights in said greenhouse?

While PVC will be more rust resistant than EMT, it is also more likely to deform due to heat. PVC will need to be suported carefully and often and will still probably look like crap in a short time. There is at least one company making stainless steel EMT. Here is a link - http://stainlessconduit.com/conduit-emt.htm
It is probably pricey, but should be perfect for such an application.

I have used the stainless steel and it is good but pricey one of the questions you need to ask is this portion of the green house seen by lots of people or just workers and how much does Ascetics really count..otherwise use sch 80 PVC and strap it more often..

emt?

emt?

I have wired a couple of greenhouses in the last 5 years. Both were about same size.(30x80??) I used emt with compression fittings. Each had about same requiirements. 200A panel, 2 exhaust fans, run of gfci receptacles down each side and a few overhead "jelly jar" light fixtures. We kept the emt mounted up high. Pvc was not considered due to frame construction being so far apart that it would have been a pain to support. And the stuff is real sensitive to constant temp changes of a greenhouse(warping), even schd. 80.Automated houses will have a control panel to moniter temp. for fan control.Usually there is a sensor that you chain hang in the center of house about 8' off floor that ties back to control board. There is really not a lot of ciruit requirements for this. And they are a breeze to wire! Easy access!!
