I'm no expert electrician or anything but I was asked a question by the maintenance manager today at a job I'd just started with (industrial maintenance mechanic). He ased me how I would wire a motor, I replied "a layer of fiberglass tape, rubber tape, then vinyl tape over a crimp cap". He seemed surprised with my answer and then said "what if the motor is over 50 R's"? I could'nt answer that one, I guess I just don't remember ever using the slang term "R's". Can you tell me what he's talking about? I'm sure it's a simple question but I really don't know! I would really appreciate it if some one could tell me what he was referring to when he used the term "R's" in relation to wiring up an electric motor.
