work space clearances

I have a wall of electrical power panels in a work space that can have vehicle drive into. I would like to place a bollard to protect the equipment. What spacing do I need to have to met? If any. I read through 110.26 and 110.32 -.34 but is a bollard an impedament under NEC? As far as woking on the equipment there is enough space to work without endangering an electrician.

Can I occupy the same space as the bollard? ;)

There is not an exception for the work space simply because the bollard protects the panel.

Depends on the voltage-to-ground of the equipment, and the conditions as per Table 110.26(A)(1). I am assumming worse case 277/480V panels, and using steel posts for protection. The depth of working space must be kept clear for a distance of 3.5' from the exposed live parts to the grounded post behind the worker. (I call this the step back distance)And the width of the working space must be 30" or the width of the equipment, whichever is greater, per 110.26(A)(2).

I would decide on the lesser of the two evils.
The work space being compromised, or an auto crashing into the panels and causing the bus to ground or short out.
