Are they still made in Rockford, MI? I am working about 10 miles from there.

I have to bear nearly excruciating pain due to a fractured heel on my right foot 3 or 4 years ago and stasis ulcers on my left leg due to a bad knee fracture over 20 years ago. My uneven walking also is rough on my back.

It sure would be nice to be able to work without such pain. I will be reading this thread as it progresses.

I really don't know where "Wolverine" boots are made. I've tossed the box out that they came in. I've depended on "Wolverine" hunting boots for many years now and I would recommend these boots to anyone.

Any of you guys have any experience with "Nautilus" brand shoes? I saw these and they looked ok, but before I found a local dealer I thought I'd ask first:
Nautilus Shoe

I can't wear boots, I hate them. I've gotta have a shoe. With pants being worn you can't tell it's not a boot so the safety guys never say anything.

Finding a Timberland dealer is no problem, there are plenty of those around. I've called a few places and the problem I'm having is finding the particular style I want.

Like some of the guys have mentioned, it's not always the boots, sometimes it's just a foot problem.

I broke the knuckle of my big toe right where it meets the foot bone, the problem is I didn't know I did it and now I have this huge calcium "knot" there. Sometimes it hurts just to put my socks on. And I find when I walk uphill a lot it really gets irritated, especially when I'm out hunting or something like that.

If I try on a pair of shoes and they hurt then I don't buy them, some just don't break in. Thing is, I find that I can buy Cherokees at Target and they feel great, they tend to wear out fairly fast, but then they cost less than $50 a pair. Of course my job doesn't require steel toes, simply leather boots.

i used to buy wolverine durashocks and had really good luck with them.
i bought a pair of carolinas about 9 months ago, the price kinda made me cringe a bit but i couldnt be happier with them. the leather softened up like a dishrag in about two days.

one thing im supprised no one has said is keep your boots oiled. it keeps the leather soft and waterprooof.

Working and being on your feet all day?

The best thing I've found is to rotate between two or three pairs of boots throughout the week. Don't wear the same pair two days in a row, in other words. My feet are happier for it, and in the summer it just makes good sense. An extra day for them to dry out.

I do the same but most of all spent over $100 for good boots usually Red Wings and they last for a couple of years.
