It seems to me the FPN is just making a comment that the "ANSI/ National Electrical Contractors Association" doccument mentioned, would or could be a reference as an example, but would not hold any weight as far as enforcement.

Keep in mind, we are NOT plumbers, and have to comply with the "360 degrees between pull points" rule. If you try to follow the plumbing, you'll have a lot more bends.
We also have to support per code. This also influences our routing.
Some things, such as concentric bends, are strictly for cosmetic purposes.

i am asking because me and another instructor were, and i guess have been, under the impression the perpindicular and parallel phrase WAS in the code somewhere but when i was asked to produce the proof i obviously wasn't able to and turned to the forum for assisstance. thanks to all of you guys for replying, i enjoy reading the personal opinions about the career field, even though this forum could be considered to be a bit biast, seing as how someone who will take the time to read these threads probably isn't your "typical" electrician. it is motivating to see so many people truly do care about what's going on in the electrical field. justin
