Why not just a SP sw in each room for each dormer light.

In the LR, install a 2P1T switch, which is really 2 single-pole switches, and parallel each of the poles to the dormer switches individually.

The result would be electrically similar, and require the same 3-conductor cable run from downstairs to upstairs. I bet the three switches shown cost less than the double-pole switch would.

Cost of the switch aside, each bedroom will still have individual control of it's dormer light, as originally requested.

The 3-way pair circuit with a single-pole switch used to jump the travelers into commonality won't allow each dormer to have individual control when the livingroom isn't calling for illumination.

When the double pole single throw switch in the living room is energizing the dormer lights, how does the dormer single pole de-energize its light? Seems to me your suggestion has the same limitation as the circuit in my sketch above.

More importantly, can I get that DPST in decorator styles and colors to match?

I thought the original request was for the LR switch to override the bedroom switches. Lacking a call for light from the livingroom, each BR was to have individual control of it's own dormer light. I could be mistaken.

Surely, a DP switch is available in the standard white, beige, and ivory and brown decorator colors.

Exactly like that. And if a 2p is difficult to aquire, 2 single pole sw in the LR will also suffice, or a combo 1p/1p.
