Guys, have no spec. Have a lab where the show a weatherproofreceptacle. I don’t believe there is actually a weatherproof receptacle but thebox and cover can be WP. Agree? Would you give them a GFCI in this case?Thanks,

I think that they're probably referring to what Bob posted but your going to need to ask the person who used the term weather proof what they meant. By NEC definition a WR receptacle like the one that Bob posted isn't weatherproof.
 
Weather resistant receptacle.

I would not make it GFCI if the specs did not show it (assuming code does not require one).

If it's within 6' of a sink, it needs GFCI protection. If there is likely splash/spray down of the area, an in-use cover or more may be needed in addition to a WR receptacle.
