roger Moderator Staff member Location Fl Occupation Retired Electrician Mar 29, 2025 #2 What you are asking about is more about a lightning protection system. If the service is grounded per Part III of NEC 250 all is well. The NEC does not require a ground ring but it is a recognized electrode.
