No, you would suffer an INCREASE in secondary voltage because you are now applying 1.7X as much primary voltage by merely connecting the primaries in a delta. This is apparent from the phasor diagrams.
But, with this increase in primary voltage, the iron would saturate resulting in excessive magnetizing current and overheating. That is to say, the primary inductance will not support an increase of 1.7X in primary voltage.
Not only is it not recommended, it won't work! Just buy the right transformer to start with.
