I wonder if they had failures relating to improper installation.
I think they just like how it feeds the bank account, don't sell what you can rent over and over again.
I think you can buy it once you get their training. At least that was my understanding but it cost a few thousand dollars for the tool.

You cannot buy this crimper. Tyco electronics is the only manufacturer of this tool and they do not sell it. Only people whom have taken Tyco's training classes are eligible to "lease" them.
