Have you seen the trick where you take a piece of 3/4 inch EMT and slide it through the inside of a piece of 1/2 inch EMT?

It's all in the way the conduit is cut, and it's not slit in any way nor is any cutting done that changes the diameters of the pieces.. Also, there is no bending done.

All you have to do is make two cuts of the 1/2 inch at a steep angle so it makes a ring, but at an angle. Now cut a ring out of the 3/4 inch EMT at no angle, just like a regular ring would be cut. The 3/4 inch ring will now slip right through the 1/2 inch ring with no forcing or anything.

Now we can no longer say this thread is 'not electrical related'. :p
