I am reminded of a statement by Justice Potter Stewart in 1964 concerning pornography when he said "I know it when I see it", similarly, I can't define electricity but I know it when I feel it.:)

And you can see it too, sometimes. And smell it. And hear it. And feel it....... right up to third degree burns! ;)

Who among us can provide a definition of "Electricity"?

How much time You Got ?

Here's a nice link from a writer/service in Canada that has a nice over-view of a lot of
the big player's that got us to our present use and understanding of it.

Starting in 600 BC! Who Discovered Electricity

Enjoy!

Oh, my understanding is a shared electron charge (and/or neutron) that's forced forward
along the atom's outer valance shell.

When I took physics at school (maybe what you'd call high school there) the definition we were given was "the movement of electrons".

Electricity: Intense, contagious emotional excitement.

The First Arena crowd was electric near the end of the game, as Elmira killed off a five-on-three situation in the first two minutes of overtime.

Now can you use 'electricity' in a sentence?

It's Smoke of Course

It's Smoke of Course

Electricity is obviously a very fine type of smoke that can pass through the molecular structure of metals and other conductors. It's obvious since anytime you let the smoke out of the wire (the electricity), then everything quits working. :)

"Electricity": That curious blue spark that travels from the drinking fountain to one's lips when the bonding screw is left in the neutral bar of the remote panelboard.

I remember years ago, I went to drink water from the fountain at a movie theater, and, knowing that I get zapped in the winter, I was careful to touch only the plastic knob.

(I can still picture the off-white plastic knob with "EBCO" etched in it.)

I'll never forget the zap I got on my lips. POW! Lesson learned.
