This is an NEC Forum.
Please list the NEC violations.

2nd floor sub-panel on the load side of the main disco (sub-feed from the main panel) on a renovation project in a single family residence.

OK. That clears up where it is.

Ask the other 500+ posters who utilize the word sub-panel in other threads. Maybe they can help you to comprehend.

LOL! I don't need to, as I am being facetious.
But, answer the question. What is a subpanel? Where does one get the definition of a sub panel in the NEC??

2009 IRC applies.
Not here.
Unless you want to paste in those sections that you are referring to so all can see.

Ty there is no definition of sub panel in the nec but we all know what it is so what is your point? :-?

To me the point is this.

If an inspector is going to goof on the work of those they have to inspect

Another genius ready for an inspection of a sub panel.

The least they can do is cite the applicable code sections and use the correct terminology.

Bob we all use the term sub panel-- I'm sure you have also. Because it is not in the NEC that does not take away from what the term means to us.
