Threaded aluminum conduit bodies (LB's) say they are for RIGID or IMC

....but I have always used them with EMT with a set-screw connector. Plus if I use it outside I simply use a rain-tight compression connector for outside use.

So are all these threaded LB's (such as the ones found in HomeDepot with the Rigid Sticker) actually only listed for Rigid and IMC and could technically fail jobs if using them with EMT?

Unless they're also listed for use with EMT (like the one below) yes it's a violation to use them for EMT.

My personal opinion is the problem is that the set screw connectors are supposed to be used with a locknut. So I don't see how you could use them threaded into anything.
 
Around here everyone puts threaded rain tight connectors in the LB and uses them outdoor never herd of a problem
I have done that many times also and I am surprised at the question . The other day I was running rigid outside and we had two lbs one was plastic and the other heavy steel that would be the best with rigid because of strength , using plastic with rigid I think is inferior,
