Keeping your crew and yourself safe

Thanks for all the replies. I’ve made my decision. I didn’t expect this to turn into a debate about safe or not safe, what could’ve been done or anything else. It is what it is, it was deemed unsafe by a representative for the company we were working for and I agreed with him. Just wanted to know if any of you have been put into similar situations and how you handled them.

LOL, everything gets turned all different directions.

I am curious, what did you decide?

There are almost always options. It’s like the service calls where the issue must be electrical because nobody wants to admit what the real problem is.

Gloves don’t come with arc flash suits because everybody has different hand sizes and the frequent testing issue.

Second guys often get hung up on switching say a main labeled with some crazy stupid arc flash rating at 480 V when there is a 12.47 kV switch right next to it or maybe even a cutout with next to no arc flash concern.

Been there done that, ended up buying my own equipment because employer thought that it was a waste of time and money to bother with safety, just get the job done, he also didn't carry any coverage for his "employees" that he insisted on treating as 1099's when convenient for him. No longer work for him.
BTW what was your conclusion?
