I am aware of that. I told a customer one time to bring a defective ceiling fan back one time. I was in store not much later and saw same one in box still with customer's writing on it (indicating which room it was to go in). Someone else gets to accept or return it I guess.Well, considering that if you return something to HD they take it and put it right back on the shelf, do you really think they care? Those boxes could have been returned several times before you got them.

But if they have them at reduced price because they are defective it would be nice to indicate there may be issues with it even if they don't clearly tell what those issues are. Grocery stores do this with items that are either past a sell by date or are getting close to that date, don't take much to figure out that is why they have discounted them.
