From what I have seen/heard they are not extremely accurate anyway, but a easy to use thing for quick checking to get general idea of what is going on. Kind of like how a wiggy may tell you you have near 120 volts but won't tell you if it is actually 118, 121, 124...Speaking of CO poisoning...I recently learned that those small pulse-ox meters...those little things you put on your finger...they cannot tell the difference between properly oxygenated blood and CO poisoned blood.
A gas flame may look yellow/orange when you look at it especially if you have been walking around stirring up some dust.
All about fuel and oxygen mix.Very true. I've noticed the flame on my stove burner is yellow when there are paint fumes in the house.

I'm seeing discreet patches which I think are the actual jets and they appear to be not-yellow. The yellow color I believe is due to the temperature of the interior surfaces. I could be wrong.I don't see any blue.
I have as shot, up from below, but still yellow.
OK, you definitely get extra points for risking your face to get that shot!Looking up
Could this be the result of LP vs NG fuel?
