You could paint the emt black to match those braces before you put it up

sleave the UFwith black painted emt the UF on the straight joist runs with just cable running above the beam drilled 2 inches above the bottom and centered so it wont be visible.

No. They purchased flushmount fans. The base is too wide.

I gave them both options. Emt or UF. If they go the UF route I want the pergola builder to make me a route to the fans.
