How many of you call a 4 11/16" box a 5" box? I've heard someone say 5" box before so curious if they could be referring to that.

Or just 4 and 11...Always called it a 4 11/16. Never heard anyone refer to it as a 5".

But, 5" boxes actually exist.Yup 5" is just slang because who wants to say four and eleven sixteenths?
Haven't seen one, will concede they do exist. Smallest I've seen next to the 4x or 5x (slang) is a 6x6x5, in fact a lot of the time even supply will list as a 5 inch but when you pull up dimensions it is a 4-11/16"But, 5" boxes actually exist.

Same people who say nineteen hundred instead of four inch or four squarewho wants to say four and eleven sixteenths?
How about an "information" box? (411)The confusion here is that an actual 5" box is a relatively new thing. Gonna have to change our slang terms to differentiate a 4 11/16" box from an actual 5" box.
