Absolutely.
Always, and if you don't understand those rules, you can lose a lot of money.

A lot also depends on what your AHJ allows and the wiring methods. In much of my area, you can't run MC, Romex or pull wire in conduit until the building (or the floor) is "dried in".
Safety doesn't allow you to be working below someone. For example, you cant work on the floor if someone is working on the ceiling. Some GC's may try and push you to work below another trade but ultimately you are responsible for the safety of you and your workers.
Material laydown areas, break trailer areas, working hours, and safety rules well beyond what OSHA requires, among others.

It can be anything that the GC wants from you. They set the conditions to work on the site.
