EC wants me (EG) to Ground my systems??

New commercial building... I asked an Electrical Contractor to install the grounding/block in an IT closet for my data rack and systems.
He said that would fall under my responsibility since I can tie into the building structure for grounding. Rather than go to the GC and tattle tale on him.
I'M trying to figure out is this a code thing? especially on a new construct...where can I get information that says I can or cant install grounding/bonding. Or even explain to him why it is his responsibility.

Yes, LV Contractor. I pulled my own permit separately.
It basically comes down to what's in the contract and who's responsible for what drawings. If this isn't part of the EC's scope of work then he shouldn't have to install it.

When you have minute please update your profile to indicate you profession. Thanks.

The SOW did not state neither he or I. The IT/data plan was an after thought. I guess I often wondered whether I had limitations on Installing grounding during a pre-power phase in a construct.

AFAIK NEC is fine with the EGC for branch circuits to be the grounding/bonding for this equipment.

Specifications can require something more than that - but is up to contract documents or other agreements between involved parties as to how it gets done.

Many specify things that were maybe more necessary 40 plus years ago but anymore they use unshielded twisted pairs between components and don't have shielded cables for data transmission unless they have some dinosaur piece of equipment they don't want to part with. So what is there to be concerned about? Used to be stray currents on shield could introduce data transmission errors.

Wouldn't that be part of the intersystem bonding that the EC is supposed to provide?
The EC may have provided it but it could be on the other side of the building and now it's the LV contractors responsibility to make the connection.
