This connector is designed for underground networked installations. The one I showed or the Polaris type would be better for what you want to do, if I understand correctly.

The type in post #3 usually go in a vault underground. The types in posts #2 and #4 are more likely what you're looking for and yes those go inside of a pull box. If you have access to a crimper you could use a barrel type connector.
