Big EMT Fishing

About to install a ton of 2.5”-3.5” emt. Set screw couplings. What’s the best way to get a string through them when finished.

How long are the runs? We would typcially suck in a drag line with a shop vac but with set screw couplings there is quite a bit of air loss when compared to compression fittings. 1/4" steel fish tapes can go pretty far probably 150' if there aren't too many bends. We would often use two fish tapes feeding them from both ends of the run. Tie a wade of drag line on the nose of one and use a hook and the other the grab the wad inside of the raceway.

I would use a 10 ft push rod, could clip it or simply whiz it thru the next piece as you went. It will end up at the last piece the same time you do.

I would blow a plastic grocery bag through with a string tied to it.
It works great for me every time.
Leaf blowers typically will push them better than exhaust port on many shop vac's will.

Greenlee blower has a lot more push than many vacuum/blowers have, but it is a multistage blower where the typical shop vacuums are usually just a single stage blower.
