You wouldn't be where you are, and certainly not a celebrity if you weren't a people person.

I would say the number one reason some areas require EMT are strong labor organizations wish to make work.
Of course I could be wrong. :smile:
fire codes are structured around the amount of combustables (type of construction or contents),and/or occupancy load, and/or distance between structures (lot lines), and last, the estimated response time for the fire dept to respond.
Thus fire suspression systems, fire rated construction, protected egress cooridoors and/or walls, wiring methods,fire doors, HVAC fire dampers, and the like.....all are designed to protect the structure, while its occupants escape and for the appropiate time for the fire dept to get it put out in a safe amount of time while not harming its occupants if they happen to still be inside
AND as you said, they may also be established by strong labor forces....:smile:
