If the j-bolts that are in the concrete are tie wired

to the rebar is that considered bonded? Or would

you have to put in a bonding conductor wire? Could

you give a reference also. I am working on a high

school pool in Alaska. We don't build very many

pools here in alaska and the electrical engineers

are from alaska.

The EE wanted to run a 3/0 conductor

around the pool as close as possible and use that

as the bonding grid, he did not want to use the

rebar in the deck as a grid, he said the rebar grid is

an GEC and we can not use it as a bonding grid. I

wrote a RFI and straightened them and copied

article 680.26(c)(1).

Let me make my question clearer. Is the building steel (I Beams) considered bonded to the CEE if the j-bolts holding the beam are tie wired to the rebar in the concrete or do you have to install a bonding jumper?

IMO you still need to run a conductor to the building steel.

That could be a bonding jumper to another electrode or it could be GEC straight to the panel.
